What A Year!

2025 has been the biggest year for me yet! In celebration of the end of the year, I always take a moment to reflect on the time I've spent and how much I have grown personally and professionally. It's almost hard to quantify how grateful I am for the year 2025. So much happened, and I hardly know where to begin!

The beginning of the year brought opportunity and promise. I spent most of the spring semester shooting men's and women's basketball in Beasley Coliseum, slowly getting the hang of basketball photography as well as enjoying the exciting matchups of Gonzaga and St. Mary's. I love basketball! If you've ever met me, you know that. However, my schedule also filled up with early morning spring ball practices and pro day as my internship with WSU Football Creative started. I was essentially thrown in the deep end and told to swim, but I think that was the best way to learn! I learned so much so fast, and I am eternally grateful for everything I saw and learned throughout that stretch of time.

Through the summer, I kept my camera mostly on the shelf and took some time to enjoy life and the people who give me so much of it. That being said, I would occasionally grab my camera for official recruiting visits. Those were a lot of fun! Lots of energy and good vibes all around, but they were also incredibly hectic with parents, recruits, coaches, and all of us in a small media room. As stressed as I was, I learned a lot about studio shoots for sports, something I desperately needed hands-on experience with.

As the fall sports season came and went, I shot thousands of photos, edited thousands more, and spent way too much time in front of my laptop at odd hours with coffee in hand and terrible posture. Every shoot and every game would come with something new to learn and apply to my portfolio! Fall sports are some of my favorite events of the year because there is so much going on! I photographed 2 volleyball games, 6 home football games, and 3 basketball games (so far)! Basketball is just starting conference play as I write this, so here's to more hoops!

Apart from sports, I shot 10 graduate sessions (spring and fall combined), 4 special events at The Coug, 2 couch concerts, 2 engagements, 2 couples, 2 media days (football and marching band), 1 a capella concert, and 1 group photo session! I love branching out from what is considered my 'normal' because it pushes me to do more and try new things! The best way to learn in photography is by doing!

I'm so excited to see where 2026 takes me in terms of creativity, opportunity, and connection. Thank you 2025, you have been wonderful :)
